Funding Source
This project is funded by a grant from The World Bank Global Road Safety Facility.
The funding is provided to improve estimates of the incidence of deaths and non-fatal injuries from road traffic crashes by doing focused work in 18 developing countries and to improve the estimates of the burden of road traffic injuries produced as part of the GBD-2005 study.
Thus, the project seeks to develop data translation algorithms that make a wide range of data sources (including death registers, police reports, hospital administrative databases, national and sub-national health surveys) consistent and comparable.
The following flow chart describes the broad structure of the project.
